Taipei Taiwan LDS Temple

My dad forwarded me an e-mail from his friend, DJ Lee, who teaches with him at BYU but is from Taiwan, and somehow got these pictures. I can't take credit for these pictures, though I wish I could. The temple is on such limited grounds that it's hard to get far enough away to get a picture of the whole thing without getting that fantastic gas station in the way. If you want a full size copy that you can make a print of, e-mail me.

Here is a picture of the Taipei Taiwan LDS Temple and stake center on the right from the roof of the Mission Office/Mission Home across the street. Posted by Picasa

Here is a view from the top using a fisheye wide angle lens. It makes the vertical lines all tilt, but it gives a wider field of vision, as if you've stepped back to get more of the picture in the camera frame. Posted by Picasa

Since I have so many pictures on my blog, I am trying out a new method. Each section will have a link under the picture that you can go to in order to see the pictures from that section. That way, there aren't 100 pictures trying to load on the front page. Let me know if it isn't working. Xie xie, Jill

My trip to Sunny California

Last week I went to Redlands, California to visit Jay for a week. We went to all three temples nearby-- Redlands, Los Angeles, and Newport Beach. We also went to a really cool photography exhibit in LA, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, Six Flags, Newport Beach, Downtown Disney (where I got to make a cute Build-A-Bear), and all the areas Jay served his mission in. It was a pretty freaking sweet trip and I hope to go back there soon :)

Jay's Trip to Happy Valley

Jay came to Utah for a week in August and we wreaked havoc on the place. He surprised me and came a day earlier than he had told me to come pick him up at the airport, so I got an extra day with him. We spent time with his family up in Salt Lake, and my family in Provo.

Family trip to Maui, Hawaii- July 2005

My family and I went to Maui for a week at the end of July. We stayed in Lahaina at these cute guesthouses where we overlooked the west coast of the island and could watch the sunset every night. We did a TON of snorkeling and shopping. By the end of the week, we had driven around the entire outside of the island. I got a sweet tan, but it went away pretty much as soon as I came home.

At the luau, they let people come up to learn a hula dance, so Johnny, my dad, and I went up and learned how to shake it. Posted by Picasa

Honolua Bay, where we did some snorkeling Posted by Picasa

Rolling and frolicking in the waves. Being a snorkeling gear model is harder than it looks. While snorkeling here, I found a 4000 Cambodian dollar bill on the bottom of the ocean. That's worth $49 US dollars as I found out. Lucky me. Posted by Picasa

This was on our hike down into the actual crater. It started out dry and warm-ish, but on our way back up we were hit by a cloud. Now, I used to think being in a cloud would be fun, but it was freezing cold, windy, muddy, and wet. It was almost as bad as the time Jay and I scootered through one in the dark through the Cross-Island Highway in Taiwan. Posted by Picasa

Johnny came up with this comedy picture all by himself. Posted by Picasa

We took the famous Road to Hana, a winding road hugging the coast through the rugged mountains. We took some walks and hikes to some great overlooks. We passed through a town called Haiku, so of course, we made up some haikus of our own. It was raining and stormy as we were driving, hence my haiku:

This rain isn't cool
I'd rather be in Taiwan
