We've been to Europe...
We've been to North America...
We've been to Central America...
But where we haven't been is South America.

First I guess I should explain our travel ideology. We like going places where we can get "iconic" pictures: pictures with Jay and I in front of something that is instantly recognizable in that place. The Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall of China, Big Ben, etc. And our wall of "icon" pictures is definitely lacking anything South American-looking. That's how we came up with our plan to go to Peru this year. What are the most recognizable things in South America? We came up with two: Macchu Picchu and the Christ Statue in Rio, Brazil. I fought hard for Macchu Picchu, and we just bought our plane tickets yesterday, and are looking forward to 13 days in Lima, Cusco, Ollantaytambo, Macchu Picchu, and Lake Titicaca!!! We are hopefully going to be able to jump across into Bolivia for a bit. Just to say we've been there.
In terms of continents, all we need to visit now is Africa, Australia, and Antarctica. But in terms of "icons," we have a long list of where we want to go...
What's next:
The Pyramids in Egypt
The Red Square in Moscow
Safari in Africa
Houses in Santorini, Greece
Glaciers in Alaska
Sydney Operahouse in Australia
Mount Rushmore (I've been, but Jay hasn't...)
Petra, Jordan
Golden Gate Bridge (we've each been, but not together)
Taj Mahal
Empire State Building (we've each been, but not together)
Any other ideas?????
I have a countdown to Peru on my blog now, so I will keep everyone updated!!!

That sounds awesome!!!
There's that waterfall in Brasil, I can't remember the name (duh)---anyway, if you end up going to Brasil, you should see that, too. It's beautiful.
You guys are so lucky- that sounds like so much fun!
Don't ya think you should get a picture infront of Tigers or Lions or something Safari like? That would be awesome. Have fun in South America, it sounds like a great trip!
WOW how much fun is that! I doubt I will ever get to half of those places. Good luck on your trip it sounds awesome!
Macchu Picchu and Lake Titicaca? Senor Skyles would be proud!
of course you can visit Argentina in South America here you have:(google for pics of these)
In Buenos Aires: El Obelisco, Caminito (you should come and take a pic of you 2 dancing tango), av. 9 de julio, av. de mayo (these are the widest and longest avenues). To the south of the country, you have the Patagonia, to the north, close to Brazil the wonderful Cataratas del IguazĂș (waterfalls) and I can go on and on and on... check some web page on Argentina.
BTW, when ppl talk about South America they're implying Brazil, Argentina & Chile, the most southern countries. Have fun!
I never been to S.America nor the south of the border of Mexico. Haha. I hope that you have a good time when you get there.I went to Ireland 10years ago and I love it.
Take care. Nancy
